An organization of successful job board veterans was looking to become more active in the social media space, and what better way than launching an innovative Twitter application to connect jobseekers with the best opportunities faster than ever? Freshout was brought on-board in the very early planning stages, and we became heavily involved in the strategy of the product's initial version as well as the long-term road map. After we conducted key research and the first version's feature set was specified based on the target audience's most important needs, we arrived at the name "TweetyJobs" and created the playful birdies as the product identity.
TweetyJobs eliminates the traditional barriers between
recruiters and jobseekers,enabling for real-time,
highly targeted connections to be made.
With a very tight timeline for such a complex custom application, we assembled an all-star team that could work efficiently with the client in moving through the design and development phase and reach a successful beta launch. In just two weeks we were able to design all of the site's instances through wireframes that were informed by our IA and UX planning, followed by the fully designed mockups. Simultaneously, our backend team was completing data modeling, analyzing the Twitter API, expanding on technical specifications, and writing the scraping mechanism to aggregate all of the job postings from certain large job data sources and Twitter.
The finished beta version included the ability for jobseekers and recruiters to create profiles with information relevant to each user type; allows jobseekers to search hundreds of thousands of jobs, and upload their resume which is parsed and formatted automatically; connects jobseekers with recruiters and employers through SMS, Twitter, and email notifications and correspondence; enables jobseekers to track specific types of job opportunities through search agents; and much, much more! The most valuable aspect of TweetyJobs is how it has eliminated the traditional barriers between recruiters and jobseekers, enabling for real-time, highly targeted connections to be made.
We're now lining up multiple speaking engagements to demonstrate TweetyJobs at conferences and events, and can't wait to hear all of your feedback to better inform the product path for the second version, scheduled for Winter 2009.
